Happy New Year!

I've been gone from the blogging world since July 2010.  Yikes, alot has happened since then!  I've been on many stitching adventures and continue to cherish my many stitchin' friends.  Currently I'm getting close to finishing Lizzie Kate's Halloween Mystery Sampler. Over the next few weeks I'll bring you up to date on what I've been stitching over the last 2-1/2 years but right now I need to get back to my stitchin'!  Look out 2013, I'm back!!
Progress as of 11-3-12

What creatures lurk in the black lagoon?

Finally got the cover off the pool yesterday.....
The filtering system needs to be rewired.
Might be awhile before we can swim in it. Dang it!
Meanwhile I'll keep an eye out for
Nessie, the Loch Ness monster!

And now back to our regularly scheduled program....

I've done very little stitching over the last 10 days.....on June 24th my mom broke her hip! She had surgery that night but the next night was moved to ICU because she had developed a slight case of pneumonia and had a partially collapsed lung. Mom spent 4 days in ICU before she was finally moved to the 3rd floor at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. She continued to improve and was finally released on July 1st, just one week after her fall. Now she is in the Transitional Care Unit at The Colony in Eden Prairie. My niece, Anna is a Occupational Therapist there. We've brought pictures and other things from home to decorate Mom's room. Yesterday Heather, the nurse's aid noticed the picture of Jake (Anna's son) She said "hey, how come you have a picture of what's her name's kid?" I said "you mean Anna?" Mom said "I'm Anna's grandmother!" It was pretty funny.... Mom is doing just great and is getting stronger every day. What I've found out during this very stressful time is that I have an amazing family! My Dad, my sisters, Kathy & Mary, my brother, John, sister-in-laws Sharon & Janet, brother-in-laws, Marty & Terry, nieces Anna, Aileen & Sarah, nephews Joe, David, Nathan, Danny & Isaac and my sweet great nephew, Jake! We all came together to watch over Mom and take care of each other....I'm so very lucky! Also thanks to so many wonderful friends that kept us in their prayers. We are so grateful that Mom is recovering and will eventually be back home with Dad.

So on to the stitching update.....
Tonight I finally finished The Sheltering Tree.
I really enjoyed stitching this one!

On to the next project....
Keslyn's My Day Complete.
Around the sides the verse says:
"I cannot count my day complete till
needle, thread and fabric meet"

This one is also done with just one variegated silk thread.
The color is "Acorn Woods" from The Thread Gatherer
